Begins in 1982
Starting in 1982, well before Devon Street, now celebrated as "Little India," emerged as a vibrant ethnic neighborhood,
our mission was clear: to create a vegetarian restaurant that not only served exceptional food but also popularized
vegetarian cuisine.
Now, 33 years later, Annapurna stands as Chicago’s oldest and most esteemed vegetarian restaurant. The name
"Annapurna" means "Perfect Food," embodying our dedication to culinary excellence.
