Our story begins in 1982 – back before Devon Street, aka “Little India”, had taken root and become one of America’s most celebrated ethnic neighborhoods. We wanted to create a vegetarian restaurant that not only had excellent food, but brought vegetarian cooking to the masses. Fast forward 33 years later — Annapurna is Chicago’s oldest and most well-known Vegetarian restaurants. So what is Annapurna? Its literal translation means “Perfect Food” – and reflects our commitment to excellence. Whether you are enjoying a delicious Samosa or drinking a mouthwatering Mango Lassi – you’ll find the same authentic flavor throughout our extensive menu.
As a family run establishment, we recognize that we could not have made it this far without our loyal customers.
